Jacqueline Gasior (née Jweid), 87, of Whiting, NJ, passed away on October 14, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Gasior.
She was the loving mother of Maryann Nagy, Marlene Capo (the late Richard Capo) and Robert Gasior (Hope). She was the adoring Sito (grandmother) of Joseph Nagy (Briana), Christopher Nagy (Jamie), Cody Nagy (Karli), Courtney Krowska (Walter) and the late Jessica Capo. She was a great grandmother to her “treasures” Charlotte Nagy, Sawyer Nagy, Madelyn Nagy, Lia Krowska and Benjamin Krowska.
Jacqueline was a much loved sister of Dolores Brulato (née Jweid). She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Saverio Brulato, and her brother Louis Jweid. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the dear daughter of the late James and Mary (née Baskinger) Jweid. Born in Utica, NY, Jacqueline grew up in Paterson before moving to West Paterson , and eventually settling in Whiting with her husband over 27 years ago.
Jacqueline was a friendly face known as “Red” who worked behind the counters at her family owned delis before retiring in 2001 from Hughie’s Red Kettle in Totowa.
Jackie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved vacationing and her trips to the New Jersey Shore, trying her luck at the slot machines in Atlantic City, and playing bingo. At home, she could often be found crocheting, playing games, happily watching her Hallmark movies, or spoiling her beloved dog Lola. She always had a wonderful time at the dances and parties at her clubhouse and enjoyed being a member of both the Red Hat Society and the Happy Hookers crochet club.
Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, who meant the world to her.
In memory of Jacqueline, please consider making a donation to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
A celebration of life and the scattering of her ashes at sea will be held next summer, with details to be announced at a later date.
