With immense sadness, we announce the passing of Mary Manning Beckett, who was surrounded by family in her final moments on October 27th, 2026, in her home on Long Beach Island. Mary lived a full and purpose-filled life and fought fiercely and courageously for more time with friends and family following a 2023 cancer diagnosis. Her incredible strength and determination will forever inspire us.
Mary was born in Somers Point, NJ, on February 7th, 1961, to Robert and Ethel Manning. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Mike; her sons, Brendan and Taylor; her daughter-in-law, Phoebe; her grandson, William; and her sisters, Joanne and Nancy.
For over 30 years, Mary built a distinguished career as a financial advisor, where she was beloved by clients and colleagues, many of whom became lifelong friends. The positive impact she had on the families she served went far past just financial management; she helped them create and fulfill their lifetime dreams.
Mary had a rare ability to make everyone she encountered feel supported like a dear friend. She was the ultimate confidante, selfless ally, and consummate host, with an infectious, unrelenting positive energy. Mary created an environment for the people around her to cultivate happy memories. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed traveling, gardening, crafting terrariums for people she loved, cooking, delighting her grandson, and observing wildlife and hunting for sea glass along the beach with Mike and her dog, Bella.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Daddy O Restaurant, 4401 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach, on Long Beach Island, from 12–3 p.m. on Saturday, November 14th. Our family invites those who love Mary to join us in honoring her legacy and celebrating a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance in memory of Mary M. Beckett at OCRAHope.org/donate.
