Shirley A. Pennington

Shirley Ann Pennington, 80, of Manahawkin, passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Manahawkin with her beloved family by her side. She was born on August 10, 1941 in Uniontown, PA. Daughter of the late Victor and Delia Carter. Prior to her retirement, she was a clerk at the Manahawkin Walmart, and was previously employed at Manhattan Bagel in Hazlet. She loved to read and spend time by the water, but her true life's work was taking care of her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Pennington in 1986, and by her brother, Joe Fitzsimmons in 2008. Shirley will be greatly missed and is survived by her daughter and son in law, Kimberly and James Pomarico of Manahawkin, her grandchildren, Justin, Julia, Nicole and Nicholas; her siblings, Barry Fitzsimmons and Sue Agnor; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation was private. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 2-4pm at the Forked River Funeral and Cremation Service, 1022 Lacey Road, Forked River.
